On Tuesday 15th October we celebrated the topping out of Bloom Clerkenwell!
Located within Clerkenwell’s thriving design district. Bloom has been under construction since December 2018 and is set to complete towards the end of 2020. A Crossrail Over-Site development, it will be one of the best located buildings in the capital to do businesses and a hub for fresh thinking, growth and well-being.
Testament to the work of our in-house design and construction teams, and architects John Robertson Architects, it is aiming to be amongst the first offices in London to target WELL Certified Platinum rating – the world’s leading framework for assessing how buildings can improve occupier health – as well as BREEAM Outstanding and WiredScore Platinum ratings.
Speaking at the event was UK CEO Steven Skinner, UK Head of Construction Joe Martin and Construction Project Director Rob Tuck. All reflected on the successes our in-house construction team and external teams have had in delivering this challenging project in a timely and efficient manner. Exciting times lay ahead as they begin the next stage of construction works, fitting out the building and installing the façade.
Perhaps most pleasing to hear was UK Head of Construction Joe Martin, remark that: “just as important as anything else that we are doing here, is that we are adding a bit of fun and enjoyment to the process – all playing a major part in a development we are extremely proud of it” – a fitting mantra that sums up what the project is all about.
Of course, before the end and the customary celebrations, there was time for a bit of ceremony as Steven Skinner, UK CEO, rolled up his sleeves and laid the final bit of concrete to mark the occasion and celebrate the milestone.
